ESP32 S3 CUSTOM DEVLOPEMENT BOARD
Compact ESP32 Development Board
? What’s this project about?
This project is a compact development board based on the powerful Espressif ESP32 microcontroller. The goal was to design a small and reliable board that exposes the ESP32’s GPIO pins for easy prototyping and embedded development.
The board is suitable for many applications such as:
? IoT devices
? Robotics projects
? Home automation
? Sensor monitoring
? Smart electronics projects
? Why did I make this project?
I wanted to design my own custom ESP32 development board to learn more about PCB design and microcontroller hardware development.
While popular boards like the ESP32 DevKit already exist, creating a custom board allows:
? A compact PCB layout
? Custom pin arrangement
? Better understanding of hardware design
? Integration into personal electronics projects
This project also helped me practice power design, USB communication, and microcontroller PCB layout.
?? How does it work?
The board is built around the ESP32 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth microcontroller, which is widely used for IoT and smart devices.
? Main Components
ESP32 microcontroller
USB interface for programming and power
3.3V voltage regulator
GPIO header pins
Reset and boot buttons
? Operation
1?? The board is powered via the USB connector.
2?? The voltage regulator provides a stable 3.3V supply.
3?? Firmware is uploaded through USB using the ESP32 bootloader.
4?? The ESP32 can connect to Wi-Fi ? or Bluetooth ? for communication.
5?? Sensors, LEDs, and other devices can be connected to the GPIO pins.
? Features
? ESP32 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth microcontroller
? USB programming and power
? Compact PCB design
? Easy GPIO access for prototyping
? Perfect for IoT and wireless projects
